Hello Little Pretties! Your favorite Cleveland fashion bloggers, Abby and Elle, debuted the “Land of Oz” collection, all purchased at Goodwill, at the Good Style Fashion Show on May 9. If you missed it, you can view our part of the show on YouTube, the link for which appears at the end of this post.
Our line of clothing was inspired by the 2013 Pantone color of the year, emerald, and featured our interpretation of the colorful characters in the Wizard of Oz.

Our distinguished emcee was The Wiz, who closed his eyes just long enough to be put under a spooky love spell by Glinda the Good Witch.

Emerald City Girl, getting ready to throw down the yellow brick road, encouraging all the other characters to begin their journey.

Emerald City Girl’s metal filigree and feather earrings were actually made from two separate pairs of earrings and mimic the shape and material of the peacock-feather applique on her blouse. The headpiece was made from a Goodwill-sourced blouse and necklace. Photo: Stephen Travarca

No Cowardly Lion here; do you see the length of that skirt? The outfit is pulled together with a winning leopard-print Kate Spade bag.

Our Scarecrow is as bright as can be: She knows that if she spends all day in the hot sun, a wide-brimmed sun hat and sunglasses are a must.

Our Scarecrow is all about being on trend. Her sunglasses, purchased at Goodwill, were blinged out for fun. Vogue magazine must have been watching us, because the idea is included in the latest issue! Photo: Stephen Travarca

Not one to be outdone in the bling category by the Scarecrow, the Tin Man embellished her look with silver garland on her shoes and handbag.

Instead of some ordinary metal funnel, our Tin Man tops off her outfit with a metal lampshade. Photo: Stephen Travarca

Dorothy, the heroine of The Wizard of Oz, is always in fear of losing her ruby slippers so she wears them close to her heart. Photo: Stephen Travarca

Glinda the Good Witch (above) and the Wicked Witch of the West (below) finally grew tired of fighting over those ruby shoes, so…

…they decided instead to focus on headwear, hopeful someday to sport pieces that rival those worn by Britain’s finest.

Our Wicked Witch doubled as the Courageous Lion. Not only was extra courage required for that short, short skirt, but also to do a costume change that rivaled a NASCAR pit crew tire change. Wow! Photo: Stephen Travarca
Our tagline (“We don’t dress, we overdress. For less.”) speaks to our fondness for finding great bargains and employing a recycle/reuse strategy to looking great, which is why we love Goodwill and why we were honored to be part of this year’s show.
If you missed our runway debut, you can view it here. And because we don’t want Our Little Pretties to miss a thing, look for more coverage of the Good Style Fashion Show in an upcoming post!
