This whole ensemble started with the tights, which I dug out of the closet because 1) the weather is getting a little nippy, and 2) I needed to hide a blooming bruise on my shin related to moving 1,000 bricks — 1,000 of 6,000, made in Poland! — that my beloved had delivered onto our driveway. (Actually you can see some of them in the photos.) Did I mention that he bought 6,000? But that’s another story.
Anyway, back to the tights, which boast a lovely floral pattern in shades of grey and beige, a color combo I adore. I paired them with a black sweater skirt that I’ve owned since, oh, the 80s (and is in remarkable shape), and a beige sleeveless blouse and grey knit sweater, both thrifted.

Love the cable knitting and high-low hemline on this grey sweater.
I’m not big on “favorites,” since I get bored easily and I like to discover new things all the time, but I’d have to say that grey is at least one of my favorite colors. A softer alternative to black, grey works with so many colors, so don’t be afraid to experiment. You may emerge with an entirely new look!

Love the tights – totally gives the outfit a fresh look.
Thanks, Maria!
So cute! I love tights. Winter clothes are a big part of what makes winter fun 🙂
We agree, Adrienne. If it weren’t for tights, winter would be significantly more intolerable!
