I first discovered Fidji shoes when I was in Germany a few years ago and ever since then, they consume 90 percent of my shoe budget, even though they’re definitely not vegan.
(Quick side note: Although I discovered them in Germany, Fidji shoes are actually made in Portugal. I’ve yet to visit Portugal, but look out when I do, Fidji Shoe Factory.)
So even though I just spent a small fortune taking my 11-year-old granddaughter and her friend to Hershey, Penn., for a long weekend (yay! let’s hear it for chocolate!), in a madcap moment I felt the need to enhance my Fidji shoe collection.
A quick search on eBay led me to these beauties, which I was immediately drawn to because of 1) their color — chartreuse is an uncommon color for shoes, and for some reason I’m attracted to uncommon things, and 2) the price — a mere $35, including shipping, which for Fidjis is a TOTAL CRAZY STEAL and, yes, I’m shouting.
Once I received the shoes, I realized I had the perfect outfit for them: a summer dress that Abby gave me as a gift a few years ago.
Love these shoes, and they’re super comfortable. They’re perfect for summer — did you notice they’re equipped with air holes? You can’t beat built-in ventilation.
For some reason, buying pre-owned shoes on eBay doesn’t bother me. I clean the heck out of them when I get them, but in my experience the shoes are always in excellent condition, as in almost new. I mention this just in case you were wondering. 🙂

P.P.S.: Also, in case you’re wondering about that beautiful background in the first photograph, it’s our new dining room floor — new hardwood (maple and cherry) — which I’ll be posting about soon!
