On the Fringe

Another of this spring’s fashion trends is fringe. When done right, these dangling threads and pieces of fabric offer a free-spirited, playful vibe. Most often, though, fringe just reminds us of cowboys and motorcycle gangs — two things we’re not really keen on being associated with. Not that either is bad, mind you; they’re just not our style.

Personally, we’re partial to the way women wore fringe during the 1920s: often beaded and hanging from drop-waist dresses. The look was simply elegant.

Today’s fringed numbers just don’t move us. We did, however, uncover a sweet little beach cover up, perfect for those hot summer days we so desperately need right now:
