Goodwill opened its flagship store in Painesville Township this month, the event we’ve been waiting for! Lucky for us, it’s right around the corner from both our houses.
The store is vast, polished and new, unlike much of the inventory inside (we are talking about a thrift store after all). But they do carry some brand-new household goods from national retailers — we noticed assorted linens from Target — and bargains abound.
Elle and I both shopped during the grand opening weekend. Isabelle, the littlest fashionista, couldn’t pass up a corduroy jumper dress, perfect for fall, and I found a simple blue top that reminded me of those fabulous blue shoes Elle brought back from Germany. I thought the eyelet pattern on the top nicely complemented the cutouts in the shoes. I added a pair of jeans, and voila!
Elle stumbled upon a long grey Liz Claiborne knit skirt (she swears she wasn’t even looking for anything for herself) for a paltry $5. She also picked up some sassy cropped jeans with a pink ribbon sash and a few other adorable baby girl items, each just $1, for Isabelle.
Although Painesville Township may sound far for those not on Cleveland’s far east side, don’t panic. The store is close to the border of Mentor, and just four miles east of Great Lakes Mall. The address is 2175 Mentor Avenue, and they’re open Monday through Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
PS: For extra luck, be sure to wear the Color of the Day.
Yay! Thanks for the tip that the new GW is open. Don’t ya just love when you find a great pair of jeans?! … Love that picture of you and Isabelle!
Thank you. Isabelle is much cuter than I am, isn’t she?
